Rooted Archipelago
Mackenzie Sims' relationship with tea began in childhood through a love of English tea traditions, but in 2022 the practice deepened into a path of presence, ritual, and connection. Rooted in traditional methods of brewing and a reverence for the tea plant (Camellia sinensis), tea became a way to return to herself and to the natural world during a season of profound loss. What began as a personal practice has since grown into an offering that brings people together through quiet, intentional ceremony.
Her Tea Ceremony is inspired by Cha Dao—the Way of Tea— is rooted in nature, presence, and shared experience. Through bowls of tea enjoyed in silence, participants are invited into a gentle moving meditation that fosters connection with themselves, one another, and the living world.
